Date & Time Converters
Convert between time units, time zones and clock formats.
Time does not follow the base-10 rules of most other units, and that is the source of most conversion mistakes. Payroll and timesheets need decimal hours, where 6 hours 25 minutes is 6.42 rather than 6.25. The time to decimal converter, decimal to time converter, minutes to hours converter and timesheet converter move between the two forms.
Clock formats have their own converters: the 24-hour to 12-hour converter and the military time converter translate between AM/PM and the 24-hour clock. The time converter changes an amount of time from one unit to another, across thirteen units from nanoseconds to centuries. For points in time rather than durations, the time zone converter shows what a date and time are in another zone, and the Unix time converter switches between epoch seconds and calendar dates.

All date & time converters
- 24 Hour to 12 Hour Time ConverterChoose a direction, type a time such as 17:30 or 5:30 PM, and the converted time appears underneath. The chart below lists all 24 hours for a quick lookup.
- Decimal to Time ConverterEnter a decimal number of hours or minutes, choose which one it is, and the converter splits it into whole hours and minutes. It also shows the total in minutes.
- Military Time ConverterPick a direction, enter a time such as 2030 or 8:30 PM, and see it converted at once. The chart and rules below explain how every hour maps between the two systems.
- Minutes to Hours ConverterType a number of minutes and the converter shows it three ways at once: as decimal hours, as whole hours, and as the minutes left over.
- Time ConverterEnter an amount of time, pick the unit it is in and the unit you want, and the answer appears straight away. Thirteen units are supported, from nanoseconds to centuries.
- Time to Decimal ConverterEnter hours and minutes and the converter returns the total as decimal hours or as minutes. Empty boxes count as zero, and the answer is rounded to two decimal places.
- Time Zone ConverterEnter a date and time, choose the zone it is in and the zone you want, and read the converted time in your own locale format and on a 24 hour clock.
- Timesheet ConverterOne form, two directions. Turn a time such as 6 hours 25 minutes into decimal hours for payroll, or turn a decimal such as 6.42 back into hours and minutes.
- Unix Timestamp ConverterSwitch between epoch seconds and calendar dates in either direction. Paste a timestamp to see the date in UTC and in your own time zone, or enter a date and time to get the matching timestamp.
