What a calculator is based on

Each calculator is built from a published, standard formula or a well-established method, so that its result can be compared with other reliable references.

The page for each tool shows what you need to read its result properly:

• the inputs it takes, and the units they are in;
• the assumptions behind the result, such as a fixed rate, a rounding rule or a simplified model;
• the limits of the method, meaning the situations it does not cover.

Compare these with your own situation before you rely on a result.

How calculators run

Calculators run in your own browser, and the site never uploads the numbers you type into them. After you press the button, those numbers are added to the page address so that a result can be shared or reloaded; the Privacy Policy explains what that means for who can see them.

The Privacy Policy also explains what the site does collect, such as analytics and advertising data.

How we test

Each tool is checked against worked examples, against the standard formula or a published reference where one exists, and against other calculators. Where another calculator disagrees with the formula, we follow the formula. If a result does not match what the formula gives, we treat that as a fault and fix it.

Testing lowers the chance of a mistake but cannot remove it. The tools have not been audited by an outside specialist. That is why results are estimates, and why we accept error reports as described below.

Articles

Articles do not all go through the same checks, so here is what applies to which. The articles dated 19 October 2026 are the launch set. They were published together under the operator’s overall plan for the site. Each was checked when it was written and was covered by the site-wide audits, but none had a separate second check of its own before it went live.

Articles scheduled from 25 October 2026 follow a plan the site’s operator approved, and a separate second check re-verifies every number and claim in each one before it is scheduled. The operator can pause, change or remove any article.

The tools are tested as described under “How we test”. “Reeliy Editorial Team” is the name this work is published under. It is not a group of named people, and no professional qualification is claimed for it, so an article is general information and not advice from a qualified professional.

Each article links to the tools it uses, so you can run your own numbers. A mistake in an article is reported and corrected in the same way as an error in a tool (see “How to report an error”).

Figures that change

Some figures, such as tax rates, thresholds and reference ranges, change over time and differ between countries. If a tool relies on one, treat it as an assumption.

For anything that matters to you, check the current figure with the official source.

Independence from advertising

Reeliy is free to use and is funded by advertising shown to visitors. Advertising never influences how a calculation works, what result it returns, or how tools are ranked on the site. No advertiser can pay to change a formula, an assumption, a result or the position of a tool.

We do not currently run affiliate links, sponsored posts or paid reviews. If that changes, we will label them clearly and update the Advertising Disclosure, which also explains how the ads on the site work.

Corrections and update dates

We would rather hear about a mistake than have it stay. This is how corrections work:

• readers report errors to us by email;
• when an error is confirmed, we fix it promptly;
• the update date shown on the page changes, so you can see that it has been revised.

How to report an error

Email us at support@reeliy.com; the contact page has the details. The most useful report includes:

• the tool and the page address;
• the values you entered;
• the result you got and the result you expected;
• a reference or worked calculation that supports your figure, if you have one.

Use example figures rather than your real ones where you can, and please do not send sensitive personal information such as health records or bank details. The contact page says what to leave out, and how we handle emails is described in the Privacy Policy.
