Acceptance of these terms

By opening the site or using any of its calculators, converters or pages, you agree to these terms. There is nothing to sign or click; using the site is enough.

These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Disclaimer and Advertising Disclosure, which you should read too.

The site is for a general audience and is not directed at children; the age limits that apply are in the Privacy Policy. If you are below the age that applies where you live, please ask a parent or guardian before using the site.

What the service is

Reeliy offers free online calculators and converters covering maths, finance, health, statistics and everyday unit conversions. Everything is public. There is no registration, no login and no paid tier.

The calculators run in your own browser, and the site never uploads the numbers you type into a calculator. After you press the button, however, those numbers are added to the page address, so anyone who has the address, or who handles it on its way, can read them; treat a calculator link accordingly. See “Calculator values and the page address” in the Privacy Policy.

What the site does with data is explained in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.

You are not charged for using the site. At the date shown on this page it shows no advertising.

How you may use the site

We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, revocable permission to use the site for your own lawful purposes. In practice you can:

• run calculations and conversions as often as you like for personal, study, work or business planning;
• print, screenshot or save your own results for your records;
• share a link to any page on the site;
• quote short extracts as described in the section on quoting below;
• embed a tool on your own website with the official widget code, under the conditions in “Embedding our tools” below.

This permission gives you no ownership of anything, and we can withdraw it from anyone who breaks these terms.

What you must not do

To keep the site usable for everyone, you agree not to:

• scrape, crawl or copy the site, its text, tables or code at scale, by hand or with software. Ordinary search engine crawling is fine;
• use bots, scripts or other automated means in a way that puts noticeable load on the service or gets around technical restrictions on the site;
• try to disrupt, overload, probe or break the site or its hosting, or attempt to reach anything you are not meant to reach;
• introduce malware, or interfere with how the site loads or works for other people;
• resell, republish, mirror, frame (other than through the official widget code, as described in “Embedding our tools” below) or redistribute the site’s content, tools or code, or present them as your own, without our written permission;
• remove copyright notices or attribution, or use the site in a way that breaks the law or other people’s rights.

If activity looks abusive, we may block the address or device behind it without notice. Blocking is a protective step, not a judgement about you personally.

You can stop using the site at any time. Parts of these terms that are meant to outlast your use, such as ownership, the warranty disclaimer, the liability limits and governing law, keep applying afterwards.

Ownership of the content

The site’s text, page design, layout, graphics, calculator interfaces and code belong to Reeliy or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and related rights. All rights not expressly granted in these terms are reserved.

Formulas, scientific constants and unit definitions are facts that nobody owns, and we do not claim otherwise. What we own is our expression of them: the wording, presentation, worked explanations and software.

You may not use the site name or branding in a way that suggests we endorse you or your product unless we have agreed in writing.

Quoting us and linking to us

You may quote a short extract of our text, such as a sentence or two or a single worked example, for commentary, teaching or review, as long as you clearly credit Reeliy and include a working link to the page you are quoting.

Links to our pages are welcome and need no permission, provided they are not misleading and do not imply that we sponsor your site. Apart from the official widgets described below, please do not embed our pages in frames or copy a whole calculator onto another site.

To do more than this, such as using our tools in a commercial product or republishing our content, ask first through the contact page.

Embedding our tools

You may embed a Reeliy tool on your own website, free of charge and without asking, by using the official embed code from our Widgets page exactly as it is given there. The conditions are:

• Use the code unchanged. You may set the width and height to fit your layout, but do not change the address the frame loads, and do not alter, cover, crop, hide or restyle the tool or the link below it.
• Keep the link back. The widget shows a link to the original tool page at its bottom. It must stay visible and working.
• Be straight about it. Do not present the tool as your own, and do not suggest that we sponsor or endorse your site, product or service.
• Use it lawfully. Do not embed a widget on a page that breaks the law or other people’s rights.
• Embed the live widget only. Do not copy, scrape or re-host the widget’s code, text or data.

This permission covers only the official widgets, and it is not a licence to copy anything else on the site; all other framing and mirroring stays prohibited under “What you must not do”. We may change, move or remove widgets, or withdraw this permission from anyone who breaks these terms or misuses the service.

A widget runs on our domain, so what it does with data is described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy. The website that embeds it is responsible for its own privacy notices and cookies.

No accounts and no user content

The site has no user accounts, comments, forums or file uploads, so there is no user-generated content for us to host or moderate.

If you email hello@reeliy.com with a question, correction or suggestion, you agree that we may act on it without owing you payment or credit. How we handle the email itself is described in the Privacy Policy.

Third-party content and external links

At the date shown on this page the site shows no advertising and uses no third-party analytics or advertising services. Pages may link to websites we do not run. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for what those sites say or do. Any dealings with such a site are between you and it. Our Advertising Disclosure says whether that has changed.

Accuracy and no professional advice

Each calculator is built and tested as described in our Editorial Policy, but we cannot promise that every result will suit your situation. Rounding, simplified assumptions, a mistyped input or a mistake on our side can all produce a wrong figure.

Results are estimates for general information. They are not medical, financial, tax, legal, engineering or other professional advice. Check anything important independently, especially before a decision about your health, money, taxes, legal position or safety, and speak to a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.

Disclaimer of warranties

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranty of any kind, express or implied. That includes any implied promise that the site or its results are accurate, complete, up to date, fit for a particular purpose or free of errors, or that the site will work without interruption.

We take reasonable care in running the site, but we do not guarantee any particular outcome from using it.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profit, income, business, savings, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or your inability to use it. Because the site is free, our total liability to you for any claim connected with it is limited, as far as the law allows, to the amount you paid us to use it, which is nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some places do not allow certain exclusions or limits, or give consumers rights that cannot be waived. If you live in one, the limits above apply only as far as your local law allows, and your statutory rights are not affected.

Indemnity

If your breach of these terms, such as the misuse described above, causes us a loss or a third-party claim, you agree to cover our reasonable costs arising from it. This covers only your own wrongdoing, and it does not apply where the law does not allow it, including in many consumer situations.

Availability and changes to the service

We try to keep the site running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of faults. It may be down for maintenance, updates, hosting problems or reasons outside our control.

We may add, change, move or remove calculators, pages or features at any time, or stop running the site altogether, without notice and without liability to you. We do not keep your calculator inputs or results in any account or database, so keep your own record of any result you need.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for instance when the site or the law changes. The “Last updated” date on this page shows when they last changed in a meaningful way.

A change applies from the date it is published. If you keep using the site afterwards, you accept the updated terms; if you do not accept them, please stop using the site.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of them or your use of the site, are governed by the laws of the country in which the site operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes should be brought in the courts of the country in which the site operator is established, subject to the next paragraph.

If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection of mandatory consumer laws where you live, and it does not stop you bringing a claim in your local courts where those laws give you that right.

Severability and other terms

If a court or authority finds part of these terms unenforceable, that part is limited or removed as far as necessary and the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.

These terms, with the pages they refer to, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site. You may not transfer your rights under them. We may transfer ours, for example if the site passes to another operator.
